Intel Optane is a new breakthrough in nonvolatile memory technology and is streamlining computing experience by combining storage capacity and intelligent system acceleration. To deliver the silicon technology the Intel Intel's Optane Development Group is looking for an experienced Epitaxy Process Development Equipment Engineer to help develop Optane technology at the Rio Rancho Technology Development center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

Responsibilities of a Process Development Engineer might include:

  • Development and sustaining of Diffusion/Epitaxy processes for next generation Optane technology development and transfer to high volume manufacturing.
  • Develop processes that meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity and manufacturability requirements for HVM.
  • Plan and conduct experiments to fully characterize Diffusion/Implant processes throughout the development cycle.
  • Work closely with process integration, device, and the other unit process areas to define the process technology roadmap and turn that roadmap into reality.
  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments to produce films which meet or exceed key performance indicators.
  • Engage closely with tool vendors for process development and sustaining issues. Drive escalations and ensure resolution to any process and/or equipment problems.
  • Establish process control systems to meet key quality metrics.
  • Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge and problem solving tools.
  • Define and maintain procedures for the module.
  • Train production/receiving process engineers, engineering and manufacturing technicians for transfer to other factories.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. 

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Physics, Chemistry or related field.

6+ years of experience in process engineering in the semiconductor industry with a combination of 1 of the following skills:

  • Using and maintaining manufacturing equipment
  • Thin-film development experience
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) or Design of Experiments (DOE) principles and engineering analysis tools

Preferred Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in Epitaxy proceed development
