Raytheon Tucson has an opportunity for an energetic and motivated Safety professional to support our Safety compliance programs within the Environment, Health & Safety department.

The successful candidate will monitor, administer, evaluate and coordinate company EH&S programs to ensure a safe workplace. Develops and advises employee workplace programs related to emergency response, safety, ergonomics and industrial hygiene. Evaluates effectiveness of policies and programs in accordance with industry and government regulations. Collaborates across departments to achieve and maintain consistency of health and safety program implementation.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Responsible for the recognition, evaluation, and control of hazardous conditions associated with the workplace that may cause injury or impaired health among workers.
  • Able to understand, interpret, and apply regulatory standards to make determinations regarding EH&S compliance. Review present and proposed industry occupational health standards and analyze potential impacts from regulatory requirements. Audit occupational health & safety programs and surveys existing and new installations.
  • Maintain and improve EH&S programs to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EH&S requirements.
  • Answer employee compliance questions and concerns, and influence safe behaviors.
  • Conduct first aid and OSHA injury investigations and root cause analysis. Identify corrective actions and track to completion.
  • Interpret and apply OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA, IFC, IBC and other applicable regulations and standards.
  • Support and implement site injury reduction, environmental, ergonomic, and sustainability goals and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with individuals and teams at all levels in the business. This may include collaboration with Engineering programs and various safety disciplines including Systems Safety and Product Safety.
  • Effectively organize, prioritize and address multiple, simultaneous projects or tasks.
An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for 2 additional years of experience.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Two (2) years of experience in an Environmental, Health, & Safety field
  • Experience with preparation and delivery of presentations
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
  • Masters degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Experience with EHS projects or program management.
  • Ability to obtain the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification within 4 years.
  • Experience or knowledge in managing Safety programs.
  • Experience or knowledge in Industrial Hygiene.
  • Experience or knowledge in industrial Ergonomics principles.
  • Experience in providing and/or developing EHS training.
  • Experience in evaluating technical documents for hazard analysis and mitigation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Current Secret level or higher security clearance.
