Job Description

The Hardware Team within iVE (Intel Validation Engineering) is looking for an Engineer Technician to perform a variety of hands-on activities as needed to enable Intel Labs with validation hardware. Engineer Technicians use validation teams and manufacturing inputs to execute testing and implement complex hardware components into the eco-system. You will conduct and participate in testing, processing and/or deployment of hardware electrical components, mechanisms, materials, and/or circuitry. Assignments are semi routine in nature. Work is performed within generally defined parameters. Some degree of judgment required in resolving nonstandard problems. Normally you will receive general instructions on most work.

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment
  • Conduct engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect data or assist in research work
  • Technical functions in support of engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modifications, fabrications, of design circuitry, electromechanical systems, or specialized test equipment
  • Work with lead Field Engineer to understand SW and HW functionality requirements
  • Interpret, execute and trouble shoot manufacturing test plans, document and implement solutions
  • Trouble shoot and debug hardware failing such test
  • Act as a bridge between planning, manufacturing and validation design engineering teams
  • Enable HW components within validation systems
  • Interpretation of automation scripts to execute validation tests
  • Maintain technical documentations including serial numbers, test results, Platform User Guide and Test procedures

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through schoolwork and/or classes and/or project work and/or internships and/or military training and/or work experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidate must:

  • Possess a GED and/or High School Diploma with 4+ years of direct industry experience, such as semi-conductor maintenance or automotive maintenance or avionics maintenance, or equivalent military training
  • Or possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree non-STEM with 2+ years of direct industry experience, such as Semi-conductor Maintenance or Automotive maintenance or Avionics Maintenance and/or equivalent military training
  • Or possess an Associates or Bachelor's degree STEM
  • Must have the required degree or expect the required degree by December 2021

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with:

  • Test equipment and validation hardware
  • Board schematics and design
  • SW and HW validation tests (execution) to ensure quality
  • Debug and troubleshooting hardware issues hands on and remotely
  • PCB Fab and assembly process
  • Interpretation of automation scripts to execute validation tests
  • Practical electronic engineering
  • External suppliers and worldwide geographies
