Raytheon Missiles & Defense is part of the worlds largest producer of advanced missile and weapon systems supporting our US warfighter and international allies. Every weapon system produced by our company contains a set of purpose designed electrical subsystems. These subsystems enable the guidance, navigation, signal processing, target detection and tracking function of the weapon system. The Electrical Product Team (EPT) is responsible for all aspects of these subsystems including design, test and maturity development.

Job Description:

The Engineering Support Technician in this role is responsible supporting engineers in a technical capacity with the modification of both circuit cards and cable/harnesses and for managing engineering lab assets through their lifecycle.

Engineering Modifications:
The Engineering Support Technician will have the ability to build-up, install and repair Engineering CCAs, Engineering builds, and Engineering Cable/Harness systems. Familiar with basic tooling for the job that includes but is not limited to cutters, pliers, tweezers, and Xacto knives. The Engineering Support Technician will present completed Engineering work assignments that are properly documented and processed for customer audit or inspection and will comply with the companys FOD program, tool control program and all safety rules and regulations.

Engineering Assets:
In the Engineering labs, the candidate will need to be able to determine the value of engineering equipment usage, evaluate the cost in its maintenance and repair requirements, identify replacement demands, and controlling the inventory of all the lab assets. The Engineering Support Technician will be able to identify, order and inventory engineering materials required by the customers. The Engineering Support Technician will be responsible for the security of processing, storing, assigning, receiving and delivering classified and unclassified engineering goods in accordance with the company security procedures and protocols. The candidate will also be accountable for providing both internal and external customer support for Engineering programs developing projects by utilizing established inventory control and distribution tools and systems. Attention to detail is paramount to ensure that Engineering customer communications are precisely received and delivered to make sure that engineering assets are transferred as required through multiple systems. The ESACT will also be accountable for an identification and tracking process to substantiate audit compliance and customer required traceability.

The person in this role must also have the ability to identify errors and make recommendations to correct errors in order to ensure customer requests are addressed effectively and efficiently.

  • Micro-soldering experience
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Able to obtain a Secret level security clearance
  • Experience utilizing a wide range of hand tools
  • Demonstrated comprehension of manufacturing and inventory methods and processes
  • Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) familiar with and able to use in recording, communications, and presentations
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years individual or collective experience
  • Familiarity with configuration management principles
  • Ability to work and communicate within a Engineering technical support environment
  • Must be a motivated and a self-starter with the desire to learn more
  • Can be a G04 or G05 depending on qualifications
  • Experience with higher-level rework equipment such as: BGA machines, IR machines, hot air baths, and hot air pencils
  • IPC-J-STD-001 Solder certification
  • IPC 610 Certification
  • IPC 620 Certification
  • PRISM software experience
  • Experience with repair and maintenance of micro electronic industry work
