The RFO team strives to provide ground breaking innovation and operational excellence for an outstanding customer experience. RFO turns Retail Fulfillment into a key value proposition for Apple's direct customers, through Planning, Execution and Strategic Programs. The RFO Senior Manager is a highly visible role that will be responsible for strategic fulfillment programs that cuts across Operations and Retail to gain efficiencies in Apple's fulfillment roadmap to improve offerings in the direct channel's route to market strategy.

The BTS Engineering Manager will be responsible (in collaboration with BTS leadership) for the group's growth, strategy and product roadmap, optimizing for:
- Organizational assimilation whilst preserving BTS core values
- Value unlock for Apple via technology adoption
- Team member growth and career development
- Initiative prioritization and resource allocation for optimal business value

Key Qualifications

  • Experience: Operations, Fulfillment, Supply Chain, Retail (stores and eCommerce), Program Management, Project Management. Candidates with experience in process design and implementation, fulfillment, logistics, and new product introductions is key.

Description

Engineering resource management:
- Represent BTS in cross-functional forums throughout product development life cycle to influence solution design, resolve conflicts, set expectations and align on deliverables
- Prioritize initiatives via quantitative and qualitative metrics, by collaborating with business partners to enable optimal allocation of engineering resources
- Stitch across partner organizations on (re)iteration of scope, LOEs, project milestones and deliverables
- Communicate and adjust timelines internally; resource work to ensure successful deployments
- Identify and execute on process optimization opportunities (internal and with partners) to ensure engineering resources are focused and protected
- Create and maintain management system to enable visibility and prioritization around future work, ensuring clear alignment with Capital projects and company priorities
- Define and execute on strategy for updating, sharing and exposing documentation created

BTS group strategy and product roadmap:
- Define strategy and engagement model for BTS to create value in more parts of the business
- Define and communicate BTS's core competencies to key stakeholders and leaders
- Define R&R's for all teams to clarify synergies, work scope and value add
- Create tactical plan to facilitate two-way learning between BTS and partner organizations
- Explore, evaluate and stack-rank opportunities to deliver elegant solutions for partner organizations that are complimentary and supportive to their core technologies
- Establish management system for RFO leadership alignment on strategic vision & pipeline initiatives
- Build out product roadmap that links to strategy
- Gain alignment from internal and external stakeholders to execute on roadmap
- Communication of roadmap, strategic intent, benefits and considerations to leadership

Team member development:
- Define and clarify career progression pathways within Apple (technical vs non-technical)
- Define clear success metrics for individual team members, as well as for the group as a whole
- Support team members in achieving their goals
- Identify and execute on opportunities for team members to gain exposure to other teams and to leadership
- Facilitate assimilation of team members into RFO and the larger Ops organization whilst protecting values that are foundational to BTS
- Ensure diverse pipeline of talent

Education & Experience
- Minimum 10 years experience of program and/or project management in retail operations, inventory management, and/or supply chain
- BS/BA degree required. MBA or advanced degree a plus

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates should possess the following:
  • - A team player with a "hands-on" and "can do" attitude that can influence through collaboration and leadership. Being able work effectively with other teams and taking them along for the journey is critical.
  • - Deep understanding of supply chain, logistics, eCommerce operations - ideally in an Apple context
  • - Excellent communication and presentation skills (keynote, xls)
  • - Prioritization skills to constantly focus on the most important project in a fast changing environment
  • - Analytical, curious and creative mind set
  • - Ability to see the big picture and zoom into the macro level technical detail
  • - Team player, while being able to work independently
  • - A driver who is self motivated and operates with a great sense of urgency
  • - Ability to drive progress under immense degree of ambiguity and be comfortable working in an unstructured environment
  • - Excellence and keen eye for detail should be a habit.
  • - Ability to make key decisions and deliver results under extremely tight timelines
  • - Passion for the customer experience
  • - Ability to troubleshoot problems quickly and think "outside the box" to solve problems
  • - Ability to prioritize deliverables to balance speed and accuracy
