Job Summary:

The Seapower and Electronic Systems Department (SESD) in Portsmouth, RI is seeking a technician with hands-on experience in the build, test, and troubleshooting of electronics hardware. The hardware performs a variety of functions including power generation and storage as well as high speed digital control. Applications range from wire harnesses, Circuit Card Assemblies, rack-mounted electronic cabinet assemblies, and system level.

The technician will work with a team of engineers to develop custom prototype hardware and to troubleshoot production hardware to determine root cause of failures Specific tasks would include hands-on fabrication of prototype hardware, build documentation creation and maintenance, use of electrical test equipment, and organization and presentation of test results.

  • Soldering
  • Harness fabrication
  • Mechanical design and assembly
  • Testing and troubleshooting of electronics hardware
  • Schematic Entry
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors degree or in absence of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience is required.
  • 2 years of professional relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a multi-use Engineering laboratory
  • Experience using test equipment to test and verify the performance of electronics hardware.
  • Hands-on prototyping skills including soldering and mechanical fabrication.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
