Whole Life Engineering (WLE) is made up of several disciplines whose main objective is to influence hardware and systems early in their life cycle to assure effective operation, reliability, maintainability and economical ownership by the customer and end user. Full Spectrum Partnering Center is a division within WLE that fulfills High Mix/Low Volume contracts with engineering services and a specialized technician force.

Job Summary:
Were seeking a motivated professional to take on the role of Readiness And Prototype Fabrication Support Engineer, providing meaningful field and on-site support to our various high mix / low volume programs. Supporting hands-on type of work, such as, cable manufacturing, electronic assembly, test set fabrication, and mechanical assembly.

As an Engineer. youll ensure our products are built and designed for sustainment and obsolescence, and your technical experience will help to influence the product life cycle from inception to development and sustainment.

In this role you will support a multi-faceted team responsible for asset operations and modernization, including technology refreshes and hardware upgrades. You will also assist with the overall integrity of systems including baseline management and configuration updates.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:,
Youll be based at the Full Spectrum Partnering Center in Poulsbo, WA where youll interface with Integrated Product Team Leads, Subject Matter Experts, Technicians, and the Customer.


Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the Integrated Product Team Lead in directing engineering activities
  • Assisting in the development of long term strategies in concurrence with technical requirements and customer needs
  • Assessing system performance and supportability and recommending improvements to increase technical capability, maintainability, and sustainability
  • Reviewing and approving changes to the technical baselines via Configuration Control Board actions
  • Participating in proposal and engineering change proposal development
  • Assisting with the development and management of maintenance plans for site upgrades
  • Contributing to risk and opportunity management

This position can be a Salary Grade P2 or a Salary Grade P3 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

At a Salary Grade P3, and advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience may be considered for this role. A PhD can account for 5 years of experience as required for this role.

Qualifications You Must Have:
Education: BS in a STEM discipline or BA in Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry or Physics.


Employment Experience:
  • 2+ years engineering experience in a military or civilian environment

Qualifications We Value:
  • Able to relay concepts for tooling design, and design for manufacturability to design functions.
  • Knowledge of creating bill of materials, assembly planning and work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of military and commercial manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability, Six Sigma and statistical techniques.
  • Experience in implementing Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiments to solve design and manufacturing related issues.
  • Strong budgeting and presentation skills.
  • Must be customer focused.
  • Able to multi-task in an integration environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess good written communication skills, especially in documenting processes for assembly.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be adaptable and willing to work varying assignments.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Project).
