Job Title: Engineer II- Commissioning
Location: Saudi Arabia - Khobar

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Commissioning Engineer who has a strong technical background in the commissioning of protection electrical power systems. Successful candidates will excel in problem solving and troubleshooting and have excellent customer service, relationship building and communication skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principals, practices and procedures of power system commissioning and site acceptance testing in the field, train and assist customers with installation, commissioning and operation of devices and systems (requires traveling more than 50% of the time) and related SEL products in order to complete difficult assignments.
  • Train and support customers with the installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.
  • Complete assignments that are broad in nature and require direct action and decision making.
  • Complete assigned work within agreed upon schedule and budget while focusing on quality and safety.
  • Collaborate with project and engineering teams in the development of project deliverables.
  • Initiate regular communication with SEL and customer project management, engineering, and support groups regarding project specifications.
  • Document, report and solve technical issues and malfunctions and identify/analyze any undesirable trends.
  • Collaborate with other SEL marketing, sales, application engineering and development activities.
  • Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related degree
  • Six or more year's relevant experience with electrical power systems or industrial automation system practices
  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principals, practices and procedures, of protection, integration and/or automation applications for electric power systems
  • Intermediate technical training, speaking and writing skills
  • Willing to travel domestically and internationally
  • Experience with electric power transmission, distribution, and/or generation systems
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineers License
