Engineer 4, Software Development & Engineering (SDET)— Comcast Cable Communications, LLC, Philadelphia, PA.
Provide technical leadership within the DVR Scheduler team responsible for providing accurate and timely DVR recording schedules for over 16 million end-users; develop and support code releases that validate front-end, middleware, and database systems; monitor production systems using Splunk; create automation tools to assist in deploying software to all supported environments by using Linux, Ansible, and automation scripting; provide critical network and infrastructure support by performing software upgrades to virtual machines and related infrastructures; update and maintain new security certificates on multiple applications and platforms; build S3 buckets on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Cassandra; triage issues by performing root causes analyses and document troubleshooting tips for use in future triaging; provide operational support to the development and product support teams for testing bug fixes and revamping testing strategies; create and verify new infrastructure and production code for the development and quality assurance teams; analyze, diagnose, and repair broken test cases and issues within production code; perform code reviews of automation scripts and front-end codebases; make changes to infrastructure to ensure that production services can connect to needed resources; enable monitoring of all infrastructure; and mentor and provide guidance to junior-level engineers.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, and five (5) years of software development experience, including monitoring production systems using Splunk; creating automation tools by using Linux, Ansible, and automation scripting; providing network and infrastructure support; updating and maintaining new security certificates; and building S3 buckets on AWS in Cassandra. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, employer will accept an additional two (2) years of software development experience.
