Job Summary:
The Mechanical Products Team (MPT), Ground Launched Effectors Department is currently searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer II to work on a multi-discipline team to assist and lead the design of Ground Launched Effectors products and subsystems utilizing 3D parametric models and drawings.

Responsibilities may include concept development, detailed design, analysis, integration and test, support of transition to production efforts, and product improvement. Additional duties may include factory production line support in the areas of root cause and corrective action and problem resolution at various suppliers. Candidate will work closely with Integrated Product Team Leads/Program Managers ensuring engineering requirements are defined, risks are managed and schedules/budgets are met. Candidate will work within the process to ensure Technical Data quality. Candidate will work under supervision of senior Mechanical Engineering staff, while exercising responsibility in determining and meeting the technical, financial and schedule objectives of projects. As a Mechanical Engineer, decisions are data driven in nature and require preparing technical justification analysis reports as well as presenting to a variety of Engineering Review Boards.


Responsibilities to Anticipate:
As a Mechanical Engineer in an individual contributor role, responsibilities will include providing practical solutions to a wide range of technical problems related to the design, documentation, fabrication, assembly and test of high reliability electronic systems for various military and Government applications; this includes:
  • Displays initiative and can work well alone or as a member of a team
    Follows organizational processes and procedures
  • Develops complete technical solutions with a high technical aptitude, and influences the successful completion of supported programs and projects
  • Understands and utilizes design and manufacturing process, automation, and continuous integration
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Experience with computer-aided design software (CAD)

Must have or be capable of obtaining and maintaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

Qualifications We Value:
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard minimum GPA 3.0
  • Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal, structural analysis, energetics principals, control systems, interconnect, airframe, or large assembly development
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good communication, interpersonal, planning and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles
  • Current/Active DoD clearance or SSBI
