Thisposition is responsible for providing expert technical support to utility customers,trade allies and program partners. In this role, the candidate will provideenergy advice and technical services for the Entergy New Orleans Energy Smart Program.Energy Smart is the city’s energy efficiency and demand response programthat provides cash incentives to Entergy customers for making improvements toresidential and commercial buildings that improve energy efficiency and reduceelectric demand. Targeted energy efficiency measures include: HVAC systems, lighting,building envelope, water heating, building automation systems, process, motors,ventilation, compressed air as well as otherequipment and systems for energy efficiency and building comfort. Thisposition is additionally responsible for directly managing customer projectsfrom program introduction to post-installation verification.

KeyResponsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Work with commercial and industrial electric customers to identify energy efficiency and demand reduction opportunities within the Entergy New Orleans Energy Smart Program.
  • Engage directly with customers to build awareness and drive participation in the program.
  • Perform on-site inspections and walk-through assessments of properties.
  • Identify and provide documentation of on-site opportunities for reducing energy and demand and provide follow-up as required to the customers.
  • Assist customers with enrolling in applicable program offerings.
  • Discuss technical elements of energy consuming equipment in residential, commercial & Industrial facilities (lighting, HVAC, hot water systems, envelope, integrated design, building automation systems, process, motors, ventilation, compressed air and other equipment) and how it affects utility consumption and demand, to help prioritize recommendations and achieve goals.
  • Analyse customer utility bills for energy consumption and peak demand charges.
  • Keep current on the latest energy-saving technology to provide program measure suggestions when appropriate.
  • Utilize program spreadsheets and databases to calculate energy savings for customers, engage with trade allies and contractors as needed.

BasicQualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 4+ years engineering experience related to mechanical design, energy modelling or construction; 3+ years' experience in the energy efficiency and demand response industry preferred.
  • Experience with energy efficiency technologies and energy-saving solutions including, lighting, HVAC and mechanical systems
  • Strong quantitative and analytic capabilities including report writing and spreadsheet analysis.
  • Ability to identify and resolve project incentive application issues with customers and trade allies.
  • Understanding of financial concepts including project payback periods and return on investment.
  • Strong communication skills, experience with customer engagement and coordination.
  • Must be a self-starter, organized and have an ability to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, field auditing tools, CRM systems and tracking databases.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

· Master’sdegree in Engineering from an accredited university.

  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • 4+ years’ experience in the energy efficiency and demand response industry preferred.
  • BPI, CEM, EIT/PE certification and/or the desire/ability to obtain.
