Job Summary

The Department of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering (ECEE) at the University of Colorado Boulder seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position beginning in August 2023. The opening is targeted at the level of Assistant Professor, but experienced candidates with outstanding credentials may be considered for Associate or Full Professor.

We are searching for innovative and collaborative researchers and educators who will contribute to one or more of our department's strong research areas. Qualified candidates in ECEE will be considered in our priority area of systems and controls. Candidates who bridge disciplines, have synergistic interests with existing faculty, or bring unique capabilities are encouraged to highlight these in their application materials.

Who We Are

Who We Are

The department of ECEE includes 2 University Distinguished Professors, 8 endowed chairs, 36 tenure/tenure-track faculty, 7 instructional faculty, and 5 research faculty. Faculty honors include 16 IEEE Fellows, 2 members of the US National Academy of Engineering, an NSF Presidential Faculty Fellow, and 22 NSF CAREER Award recipients. The ECEE program consists of about 400 undergraduate and 480 graduate students and has averaged over $12 million in annual research grants. The department maintains close ties with local industry and national institutes/labs such as NIST, NREL, and NOAA.

What We Require

  • Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in electrical engineering or a related discipline by the time they begin their tenure-track appointment. Successful candidates must have the ability to develop an independent research program, enthusiasm to work with other faculty in the department, and dedication to teaching and mentoring at all levels. We seek candidates who are strongly interested in or demonstrate effectiveness in teaching, mentoring, and inspiring diverse students of all races, nationalities, and genders including first-generation college undergraduates.
