Job Description

The Electromagnetics Division (EMD) at GTRI is seeking a qualified technologist (entry to mid-level) to join our research team.

Specific tasks could include performing layouts and schematics of electronic circuits, handling the procurement and fabrication of test articles, measuring the performance of test articles, writing test reports, and presenting results to sponsors.

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist I

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Physics is required. 

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist II

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Physics and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Physics and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Physics.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Physics.
  • Candidates must be US Citizens and have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic circuit layout, CAD, fabrication, assembly, testing, or related areas is desired.
  • Active Secret Clearance is preferred.

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
