Job Description

The Advanced Concepts Laboratory (ACL) of the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) seeks qualified candidates for the position of Electromagnetic Researcher. The role of this position is to conduct complex modeling, signal processing, and detailed analysis of advanced electronic warfare and sensing systems in a team-based environment focused on emerging technologies. The successful candidate will conduct sponsored research projects in close collaboration with other scientists and engineers. Job Duties:

  • Development and application of state-of-the-art modeling and simulation tools to perform critical analysis of electromagnetic system performance.

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist I

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field.

Research Engineer/Scientist II

  • A Masters degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Masters degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelors degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field.

Required Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess a strong subset of the following:

  • Signal processing
  • Data analysis and modeling
  • Experience with EM software packages or methods (HFSS, FEKO, XFDTD, CST, XPATCH, FDTD, FEM, MoM, UTD, GTD)
  • Numerical computation software expertise (MATLAB/Octave, R/S-Plus, LabView)
  • Software development in C++, C, Python and/or Java
  • Experience with sensor/antenna measurements using equipment such as network analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers
  • Problem investigation reproduction and resolution skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Secret Clearance
  • DoD research experience

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
