Job Summary:

The Low Voltage Power Products (LVPP) Department supports key Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) products, by providing mission-critical designs relating to power conversion, motor controls, flight termination systems, telemetry, and other analog domains.

We are looking for junior to mid-level Telemetry (TM) and Flight Termination Subsystem (FTS) engineers to help design robust TM & FTS systems for important national defense products.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Assist in the design of airborne telemetry (and related flight safety) systems
  • Become the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for FTS and/or TM designs.
  • Generate and/or compile all required analysis and documentation verifying compliance with program and performance requirements.
  • Familiar with Flight Termination and Telemetry subsystem design.
  • Familiar RCC319 and how it impacts FTS and TM designs.
  • Help see an FTS circuit card through its design phases, from requirements definition through initial integration testing.
  • Drive to meet schedule concerns. Define schedules for FTS circuit card level tasking.
  • Function as an individual contributor. Understand the role of a small team lead.
  • Engage in personal technical growth at RMD.
  • Clearly present your work product to functional and program leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • While a Bachelors (or higher) in Electrical Engineering is preferred, related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) Bachelors (or higher) may also be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 year of related experience in electronics design with emphasis on digital and analog design and analysis
  • Design experience with communications systems such as TM.
  • Design experience with FTS.
  • Experience with electronics laboratory diagnosis and testing.
  • Experience with the ECAD process and conceptual understanding of layout and routing concerns.
  • Experience with utilizing specifications to drive design decisions.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Professional exposure to system grounding schemes and resolving ground reference issues.
  • Professional exposure to power supply design.
  • Professional exposure to detailed printed circuit board layout.
  • Professional exposure to TEMPEST
  • Professional exposure to RF and Radar.
  • Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, be able to function in a dynamic environment, and have good time management skills. Must have an appreciation for how successful teams are structured.
  • Must have professional experience communicating and documenting technical topics at the small team level.
