Lockheed Martin Energy is seeking electrical engineer with experience and expertise in power electronics and battery technologies for our expanding energy storage business. LM Energy provides distributed energy resources to utility, commercial & industrial customers. Among these solutions is our GridStarTM Lithium energy storage system that is a turnkey, factory assembled, outdoor-rated product with AC/DC protection, power conversion, energy storage, thermal management, and controls. The electrical engineer will lead the technical development, certification, and performance objectives of electrical subassemblies in the GridStarTM Lithium product line. Interested candidates should have extensive background in development of complex electrical systems with specific experience in product development, integration and testing, and sustainment
Responsible for creating engineering evaluations, analyzing failures and interruptions, completing design analysis and calculations, and issuing detailed design documentation
Expertise should include electrical engineering design with high and low voltage systems. It is desired the candidate have knowledge and experience in controls and SCADA, Li-ion batteries, power conversion systems, and thermal management solutions
Collaborate with other Engineering disciplines (Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Logistics & Sustainment Engineering), Procurement (Materials and Subcontract Management), Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations, and suppliers / vendors


Position is located in Grand Prairie, TX (near Dallas, TX) with periodic business travel to other locations

Basic Qualifications
•Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in electrical engineering
•Candidate must have a green card or be a US Citizen
•Must have the ability to travel (approximately 25%) as it may be required to support the hardware fabrication / integration activities at suppliers
•Knowledge and experience in power electronics and/or battery technologies
•Candidates will need to have strong conceptual and detailed design skills
•Experience with detail, assembly, and installation type drawings
•Knowledge of manufacturing and manufacturing processes
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Strong organizational skills
•Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic environment, capable of working in an inclusive, team environment
•Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
•High degree of self-motivation
•Motivated by competition, yet a team player

Desired skills
•Experience in controls and SCADA, Li-ion batteries, power conversion systems, and thermal management solutions
•The candidate should have experience with Change Control Board (CCB) and Material Review Board (MRB) type experience, where disposition of discrepancy reports will be required by engineering
•Knowledge of different grid-scale energy storage technologies i.e. batteries
•Distributed generation interconnection analysis
•Experience with enhanced voltage and frequency regulation, reactive power capability and control functions to utilize this capability
•Experience with power system design, modeling, and analysis (distribution system analysis)
•Strong fundamentals of electric power systems and electric circuit theory with the ability to perform power quality analysis, power system transient and harmonic analysis
•Ability to structure and perform project level modeling, analysis, and case studies. Modeling and model verification testing with appropriate modeling tools
•Renewable energy grid integration plant studies
•Strong hands-on skills, ability to assemble early prototypes and subject prototypes to validation/verification routines
•Competence in analyzing large sets of data and applying statistics to draw conclusions
•Capacity to quickly learn how to operate complex equipment
•Industry experience in field of electrochemistry (batteries)
•Great organization and attention to detail while not losing sight of the "big picture"
