An opportunity exists at the Mission Capability Verification Center at White Sands Missile Range in NM, to support our mission.

Our experienced new hire will make significant contributions in the design and development of non-tactical test equipment for U.S. and international customers. Tasks include developing and/or updating existing custom test hardware and/or firmware for launcher, radar and missile non-tactical test equipment. Other tasks include coordinating assembly of project deliverables and assisting in resolving manufacturing problems.

Additional responsibilities include working across disciplines and providing ad hoc assistance to support program requirements as needed to include software design and meeting program cost and schedule requirements.

Tasks could include assisting with and providing support to mission operations at WSMR and other locations to include coordination, system performance analysis and setup of tactical equipment such as launchers.

This role can be a G07 or G08 depending on the candidates experience

Required skills and education:
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hardware design, firmware design, testing based on high-level requirements and system integration
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in FPGA firmware design using VHDL and related simulation tools such as Xilinx ISE Design Suite.
  • Experience with parts lists and design review packages for electronics
  • Hands-on experience in testing of electronic products using high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, waveform generators, and debugging tools
  • Ability to analyze, problem solve, multi-task, work in a team environment and meet deadlines
  • This position requires eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

    Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with FPGA and CPLD development tools from Xilinx including ISE & Vivado Design Suites
  • Experience in design validation of behavioral VHDL
  • Existing secret clearance

Other Requirements:
  • Occasionally work long hours and/or the weekends and travel to various locations and remote sites to support program requirements.
  • Willing to adhere to the Safety, Security and Quality Management programs in place to protect and enable our workforce, and produce the highest quality test equipment.
