Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of SELs environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) programs to comply with federal, state, and local regulations.

Develop and participate in active hazard control and accident prevention programs. Investigate, prepare and review reports to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct workstation and industrial ergonomic assessments & evaluations.

Train designated factory managers, supervisors, employees to conduct risk assessment and ergonomic evaluation.

Lead workplace ergonomic improvement projects and equipment safety design by working closely with manufacturing design engineering.

Perform EH&S review/approval as part of the Management of Change (MOC) process.
Conducts internal audits and compliance inspections and identifies actions necessary to meet regulatory and ISO 45001 standard requirements.

Develop training programs which encourage a safe and healthy work environment, and counsel all levels of management and employee owners on safety management programs and practices.

Prepare and communicate EH&S information to SEL employees.

Maintain current knowledge of current applicable regulations and pending legislation.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in a EH&S related field or Engineering

Minimum of 3 years of EH&S-related experience including industrial ergonomics. An occupational health and safety-related masters degree will be considered as an equivalent of 2 years of experience.

Subject matter expert level knowledge in the following programs: General safety, occupational ergonomics, machine guarding, lock out tag out, electrical safety, and chemical handling and storage.

Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications

Superior organizational skills and high attention to detail

Excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team environment

Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities

Ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information

Negative drug test result(s)

Background check results satisfactory to SEL

Preferred Qualifications

EH&S experience in electronics manufacturing environment.

Professional certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Professional Ergonomist, Associate Ergonomics Professional (AEP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent.

ISO 45001 and/or 14001 internal auditor experience.
