Apple's fast-growing global Apple Music business seeks a creatively-minded Editor with experience programming music video television to join the global Editorial team, reporting into the Global Head of Programming. The successful applicant will have a proven project management and strategic skills, and a work history that demonstrates success in the areas of music video television and streaming. It will be vital for the person in this role to be a self-starter, who can work autonomously, while also being able to work very intuitively and diligently with other stakeholders across the Editorial organization to identify opportunity, build strategy and execute to change and grow Apple Music TV. The applicant will be a natural communicator with an eye for detail and a passionate drive for results. The person in this role will be able to couple great organizational skills with a creative energy and strategic problem-solving.

Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience in running large, cross-functional projects
  • Success in developing creative and/or content and programming ideas with editorial teams
  • Thorough understanding of the digital content space
  • Experience working in television/streaming industries
  • Deep understanding of the music industry
  • Strategic agility in driving very conceptual projects to well thought-out and detailed realities
  • The person in this role must have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to bring ideas and plans together; being able to reconcile different points of view as well as ensuring that each stakeholder is heard, represented and invested
  • This individual will need to have been exposed to multiple digital businesses and have a level of comfort and understanding of the user experience
  • Functionally being able to lead around prioritization of resources
  • Be adept at communicating (both written and verbally) and tracking all stages of a project
  • Deep connection to the arts, tech, & media landscape, and experience working closely with creative teams
  • The position requires a self-motivated individual; extraordinarily driven, highly adaptable with outstanding communication and organizational skills, who is also able to work under pressure
  • Ability to translate customer engagement data into editorial insights and learnings, and create a strategy and action plan around those insights
  • Proven track record in working on complex, global, large-scale, and time-critical projects
  • Natural networker with the ability to build strong ties with both internal and external partners
  • Strong understanding of, and empathy with, the Apple brand and products
  • The ideal candidate will have had experience working across many International cultures and countries with both an understanding and passion for local nuances
  • Someone obsessed with offering the best customer experience
  • Finally, you have to be passionate about digital technology and possess a "get it done" attitude
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in music television programming or the equivalent

Description

Define and drive the Apple Music TV strategy on platform
Work with US team to identify and schedule music videos, short form interstitial content and special programming including long form content and live event moments
Build effective hits focused music video strategy and schedule and manage daily logs
Work with US team to identify further opportunities to evolve Apple Music TV
Establish programming and updating cadence specific to viewer habits
Work closely with the Analytics team to track performance
Continue to adjust programming/strategies needed based on feedback from Analytics team
Participate in weekly tracks meeting with Editors to understand Editorial priorities across all genres
Participate in Bi-weekly Priorities meeting with Programing, Music Business Partnerships and Artist relations to stay informed on cross-functional priorities and upcoming releases.
Have regular 1:1's with Editors to discuss priorities and identify new music videos to be added to Apple Music TV on a weekly basis
Communicate regularly with Music Business Partnerships team on the delivery of new music video assets from partners
In addition to new music, identify recurrent and catalog videos that work to drive viewership

Education & Experience

University degree preferable. MBA or Post-Graduate is a plus.
