Come join our NEX (Network and Edges) IoTG engineering team working at the forefront of enabling the edge-cloud software transformation, developing software-defined platforms based on edge, cloud and distributed computing technologies, driven by real world use cases and application workloads. Our team's charter is to build world class differentiated Edge Platforms at scale that address our end-customer use cases and pain points, harnessing our software, silicon, and ecosystem. We are looking for a technical expert, who is also a great communicator and has a system engineering mindset, to make hands-on contributions to realize our charter.

You will participate in end-to-end systems engineering activities including requirements analysis, architecture definition, design, development, integration, and optimization of various edge technologies including operating systems, hypervisors, orchestrators, workloads, and developer tools - differentiated and optimized on next generation heterogeneous Intel platforms.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Contribute to the overall architecture
  • Lead the definition and implementation of features and microservices
  • Work with customers, ecosystem partners and the ITG vertical business units in the delivery of Edge Platforms software
  • Enable cloud-native developers by making it easy to use our solutions for them
  • Make our solutions self-enabling by leveraging references, tools, and best UX/DX
  • Collaborate with and influence stakeholders across Intel, including platform planners, product managers, systems architects, technical leads, and customers
  • Leverage the strengths of IA (Intel Architecture), IoT-unique enhancements, and adjacencies like networking and accelerators to clearly demonstrate differentiation
  • As an expert in bedrock technologies of virtualization, containers, orchestration, and workload consolidation (WLC), showcase the value of software-defined edge solutions
  • Driven by workloads, benchmark and optimize edge use cases to articulate the value add to our vertical business units as well as external customers
  • Enable ecosystem partners including ISVs, OSVs, systems integrators and OxMs
  • Put together compelling technology demos showcasing the value propositions
  • Build new proof-of-concepts to incubate state of the art cloud technologies
  • Tailored to the audience, author high quality presentations capturing the essence and value propositions of the engineering output.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills in addition to the qualifications listed below.

  • Must be a team player, with a demonstrated experience technically influencing others.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of various IoT and networking workloads, both industry standard benchmarks as well as proxy applications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline with 9+ years of experience or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline with 6+ years of experience
  • 6+ years of industry experience in the following areas:
    • Software development and technical leadership
    • Containers, virtualization and orchestration technologies
    • Cloud-native software development including Python, Golang, Docker, Kubernetes
    • Operating systems, internals and drivers like Linux and RTOS
    • Toolkits, SDKs and frameworks similar to OpenVINO, OneAPI, DPDK, PerfKit Benchmarker, etc.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of industry experience in the following areas:
    • Presenting to executives, customers, and at large technical conferences
    • Contributing to industry open-source projects
    • Enabling software and systems ecosystem partners
    • Working with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs)
