Electrical & Computer Engineering: Laboratory Coordinator and Technician supports all the laboratory activities within the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department; ensures the smooth operation and safety of ECE labs.


  • Work with chair and faculty to ensure smooth and safe operation of all teaching and research laboratories.
  • Purchase, upgrade, maintain and dispose equipment; maintain an inventory of spare parts and normal laboratory supplies.
  • Identify and correct safety concerns.
  • Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe environment in all laboratories and storage areas. Coordinate with faculty on monitoring student activities in the laboratories and on supervising student laboratory assistants.
  • Support faculty’s research activities and students’ projects on their component, equipment and logistics needs.
  • Help the department to conduct lab tours and demonstrations.
  • Serve as a point of contact or liaison where appropriate.
  • Carry out activities to improve the lab facilities and to meet department needs as determined by the ECE chair.

Required: B.S. in Electrical, Computer or Robotics Engineering or a closely related field by date of appointment.  

Desired: Consideration may be given to candidates with a Master degree.
