Job Description

The candidate will provide electrical engineering for ongoing sponsored programs where GTRI is accomplishing modernization efforts for the US Air Force in the area of Electronic Warfare (EW). The successful applicant must have knowledge of DSP theory and experience in its application. Responsibilities will require implementation of DSP algorithms for EW RF receivers in MATLAB and/or VHDL.

It is expected that the applicant will have the following skills:
• Understanding of DSP theory and application
• Ability to implement DSP algorithms in MATLAB
• Ability to implement DSP algorithms in VHDL
• Ability to work well individually or in a group setting
• Ability to effectively work under pressure and time constraints
• Ability to self-motivate and derive specific requirements from general tasking descriptions
• Ability to assimilate and apply new job-related information in a timely manner

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist II

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,

Senior Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist

  • A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Relevant Experience in DSP

>3 years relevant experience after completion of Master’s degree, or
>5 years relevant experience after completion of Bachelor’s degree

• Professional work experience with MATLAB
• US Citizenship
• DoD SECRET clearance or ability to obtain a clearance within six months after your employment with Georgia Tech Research Institute

Preferred Qualifications

• DSP focus in Master’s program
• Existing DoD Secret clearance
• DoD contract work experience
• Knowledge and experience in EW
• Knowledge and experience in RF receivers
• Previous experience work with the USAF community

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
