Job Description

Come join the Datacenter Processor Architecture Team (DPA)! This is an amazing opportunity to join a highly motivated team whose mission is to architect high quality Xeon products that deliver leadership performance, performance efficiency and security for traditional as well as new paradigms for data centric computing in the datacenter and edge with the right balance of leadership technologies and IPs for computing, interconnect, memory and quality delivered through the best mix of silicon, packaging and platform solutions.

The Product Architect responsibilities are but not limited to the following:

  • Determines, specifies and evaluates the viability of complex features and structures and ensures that software and hardware designs interface correctly and delivers the solutions to the customers
  • Defines, documents and tests processes for inclusion into technical platforms, subsystem specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility
  •  Identifies, analyzes and resolves performance, product, subsystem and/or SoC design weaknesses
  • Influences the shaping of future products through contributions to the base architecture used across several design families
  • Provides multilayered technical expertise for next generation initiatives


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 9+ year's of relevant work experience; OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of relevant work experience; OR Phd in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of SOC architectural experience (experience can also be through design and validation roles), including direct experience developing complex processors
  • 5+ years of experience in Computer modeling/simulation techniques such as RTL simulation/emulation, performance modeling, and functional modeling


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with High-performance technical computing, machine learning algorithms and/or artificial intelligence is desired
  • Knowledge of power/performance trade-offs, modular architecture/design, IO and interconnects, memory and caching architectures a plus
  • Understanding of SW/HW interfaces and FW/HW interfaces
  • Understanding of engineering trade-offs required for commercially successful products
