Role Number:200265220

Apple is looking for a world-class Display Process Engineer to develop new panel processes and equipment for Apple products by closely working with external display partners and internal engineering teams. This role will lead all aspects of the OLED process with our display partners to ensure a smooth development and ramp to mass production for new Apple products. We work at a fast pace and require everyone to be highly self-motivated. A successful candidate needs to be flexible and be able to tackle problems outside of their direct technical expertise.

Key Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with OLED or thin film processes and/or equipment
  • Ability to perform process DOEs and failure analysis for process optimization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proactive demeanor and team-working spirit
  • Willingness and ability for up to 20% travel in Asia

Description

Lead engineering activities on advanced process technologies for new display applications. Analyze the trade-offs between design, process, performance and implementation feasibility

Work closely with multi-functional teams in Apple and external display partners in Asia to develop, bring-up and qualify OLED processes / equipment for new products

Lead evaluations and development of new equipment and technologies

Identify root cause for failure modes with structured approach and provide corrective actions or Design of Experiments (DOE) to internal teams and external partners

Collaborate with internal and external partners in process improvement and yield enhancement

Education & Experience

PhD degree in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, Material, Optics Engineering or Bachelor/MS degree in Physics, Electrical, Mechanical, Material, Optics Engineering with 3+ years experience

Additional Requirements

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • - Thin film deposition process development and characterization
  • - OLED evaporation process experience
  • - OLED or thin film equipment design, development, bring-up and/or optimization
  • - Mass production experience with OLED or semiconductor processes and equipment
  • - Experience with modeling and/or simulation
  • - OLED device architecture design and optimization
  • - Failure analysis with AMOLED products and process DOE experience
  • - Statistical process control and/or yield improvement experience in mass production environment
