Job Summary:

Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD) Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) organization is in search of an experienced and strategic leader for a current Mission Area Director opening. The successful candidate will lead a team of Material Program Managers (MPMs), supporting the Advanced Technology portfolio of products and services and will report to the Executive Director of Global Supply Chain Program Area Support.

This position can be located in either the Tucson, AZ, Greater Boston, MA or Louisville, KY.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

In this position you will draw from extensive Operations Management, GSCM and Program Management skills to lead the coordination, communication and integration of subcontractor(s) and functions/ disciplines to support the achievement of prime contract technical, financial and performance objectives.

You will use keen business acumen to immediately connect technical concerns to ultimate contract performance, and should be able to proactively identify and resolve problems and customer concerns efficiently and effectively.

You will communicate effectively and routinely on all supply chain problems and/or issues including subcontract performance to Vice Presidents, the Mission Area leadership team and all Functional Leaders while teaming closely with all affected partners on status of problem and resolution.

You will create and execute material strategies and Material Program Plans (MPP) to meet program costs, schedule and technical requirements and commitments, with IMP/IMPS accountability. And as the leader of MPM are also responsible for derivation and prime contract flow down of technical requirements (e.g., specifications), tasks (e.g. SOW) and terms & conditions applicable to the contract or subcontract.

In addition, this leader will be accountable for continuously, monitoring and evaluating program metrics for trends and root causes and formulates proactive plans to ensure overall success of the program.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • A BS/BA degree in engineering, supply chain, business, finance or related field.
  • 14+ years of experience within multiple aspects of supply chain, material management, operations and/or program management
  • 10 + years of experience developing and managing supplier base
  • Experience with program management principles such as development lifecycle, Statement of work generation (SOW), risk management, action item management, requirement change management, Earned Value planning/tracking/reporting, metrics management, and / or subcontract management
  • Experience with financial impact of decisions on the organizations budget and the program to include managing cost, schedule and/or performance
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically
  • US Citizenship
U.S. Citizenship is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance within one year of employment with the ability to obtain special access as needed.

  • Graduate Degree in relevant area of study
  • Experience working within large industry or across multiple business units within Raytheon Technologies (RTX)
  • Proven ability to collaborate across the organization, cross functionally and operate effectively within a matrix environment
  • Strong project management skills and ability to convert business unit requirements into executable strategies; ability to develop and execute project plans
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AOP/EAC management and supply chain related metrics
  • Strong critical thinking skills, ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complexity and ambiguity
  • Skilled in communications, team building, conflict resolution, and relationship management to create an effective partnering environment that includes credibility, respect and trust
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools, particularly Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors within RTX, as well as with the customer
  • Excellent written and oral communication skill, including presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand technical details of efforts underway, to summarize key concerns and follow through with development of action plans to correct or satisfy problem areas
  • Solid understanding of other related business disciplines, and how they interact with GSCM, program management, engineering, quality, and operations

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
