Job Description:

The RMD Engineering organization is seeking to hire a Digital Transformation Engineering Director located in the Tewksbury, Massachusetts area or Tucson, Arizona and will report directly to the Engineering Mission Area Lead Executive Director.. This role will be responsible for the combination of capital and expense, engineering overhead initiatives, irrespective of current home directorates. It will support initiatives and projects and have the capability to better effectively and efficiently manage project related to core team.

The DT(x) Director will be responsible for understanding and operationalizing the RMD IRAD strategy as it will provide tactical and strategic support, solving complex challenges related to cost, schedule, staffing, tools, process, reporting, and compliance requirements. This individual will communicate primarily with its internal facing customers or partners, but span across the matrixed organizations such as program office, engineering, finance, and contracts respectively. Furthermore, communication is key to influence and persuade at the highest visible executive level.

This role has the accountability to partner and impact multiple functions and location; the ability to process and react quickly with innovative and sustainable solutions will be key. This position will be required to react quickly to technical and production challenges and being able to make decisions at the program level to redistribute/allocate resources to meet schedule demands.

The DT(x) Director is held accountable for the future growth opportunities requiring coordination of application across program requirements. The individual leads the cross discipline team by allowing and encouraging creative thinking on ways to approach and solve difficult and complex problems associated with this complex weapon system.

Although the position can be located in the Tewksbury, Massachusetts area or Tucson, Arizona, the position will require frequent domestic travel.




This position requires a current Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 14 years experience; preferably in a complex and dynamic program management, engineering or operations environment
  • Bachelors degree in STEM (Engineering, Technology, Science, or Mathematics)
  • Experience in developing proposals
  • Demonstrated experience with complex environments, customers, supplier base
  • Demonstrated success in business planning
  • Experience in Earned Value Management
  • Strong proficiency in partnering in matrixed organizations
  • United States Citizenship
  • Existing DOD Secret Level clearance or higher

Desired Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • Raytheon Program Management Certification Level 3, 2 or 1 preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering discipline, processes, and development execution
  • Strong proficiency in developing and presenting Strategic Plans, AOP, Technology Roadmaps, and planning to senior management, and responsibility for executing approved plans
  • Demonstrated capability to manage, track and report metrics and progress through Estimate at Completion reviews, Finance reviews or equivalent process review
  • Demonstrated capability to focus, evaluate, and motivate teams, enabling them to achieve desired results
  • Working knowledge of US and international requirements and acquisition processes
