Job Description

The Server Projections team is responsible for driving performance analysis and competitive assessment of the Intel datacenter roadmap. We work in an exciting environment where we advise Intel leadership about IP and roadmap decisions across segments and products. This is a high visibility role and there are significant opportunities for engagement with many other teams.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Create new methodologies to measure performance on SOCs

  • Provide competitive assessment and analysis of the competitive software and hardware ecosystem, with focus on ARM based servers

  • Create performance and power models for future networking and server products

  • Examine the next generation of networking and server workloads on which our products must excel to be successful

  • Contribute to the feedback our team delivers to design, marketing and architecture teams on the performance of future products

You will gain experience in workload characterization, hardware characterization and performance analysis on a variety of hardware and software. Our engineers typically take part in software projects focused on improving characterization and automation, involving a range of programming technologies.

The most successful candidates are good collaborators and are eager to engage in new projects and learn new things and have a background in datacenter and networking infrastructure.


Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, with 2 years experience in Computer Architecture or Performance Analysis:

  • Experience with performance monitoring tools, such as VTune, EMON, or other performance optimization tools.

  • Experience optimizing code for performance, especially for datacenter and networking environments

  • Experience with data center and marketing and strategy

  • Experience with C, C++, Python or statistics languages like R
