Apple's Environmental Technologies team is seeking a candidate to lead data analytics and visualization for Apple's carbon accounting work. We use a combination of product LCA data, supplier facility-reported data, modeled data, and corporate reported data to arrive at Apple's comprehensive carbon footprint. This data analytics role will ensure the data integrity of underlying data, organizing and managing the data, and rolling up this data to provide meaningful insights into the sources of carbon impacts and opportunities for carbon reductions. Key Qualifications

• Scientific computing skills, including data analysis, visualization, and working with large datasets. Programming experience with Python, Perl, SQL, R, or similar is required.
• Experience with software development workflows in collaborative settings including source and version control and Agile methodologies
• Experience with database tools and visualization tools including database management systems, web-based data visualization tools (e.g. D3, React), and cloud-based infrastructure design; ability to architect and maintain appropriate database and visualization capabilities. Comfortable with statistical analysis, uncertainty, and imperfect data.
• Familiarity with environmental indicators and impacts, particularly with respect to carbon, water, energy, and resources.
• Familiarity with environmental accounting rules and methods preferred, including understanding of data sources and system boundaries.
• Experience with facility energy reporting and process-based life cycle assessment preferred.

This role works closely with other environmental accounting functions within Apple, as part of a team of analytical specialists responsible for assessing Apple's carbon impacts. You will be a key liaison connecting various environmental accounting functions, managing and validating the underlying data and ensuring data interoperability. Success in this role will ensure if you have a passion for the environment, environmental metrics, environmental accounting, and data visualization. Outstanding candidates will have a vision for architecting a data management system that will scale over time and enable more timely communication and decision-making.

Education & Experience
- BS degree required in computer science, and math backgrounds strongly preferred. MS and PhD degrees are welcome;
