The Logic Technology Development (LTD) Thin Films team is comprised of modules that focus on cutting edge planarization techniques and thin films deposition, including metals, metal oxides and epitaxial silicon films, enabling rapid miniaturization of devices and mass production of integrated circuits.

Night Shift Engineers (NSE) are the single point of contact for tool activities for a wide variety of platforms in a module. The NSEs report to a Shift Group Leader (SGL) and are part of a team that interacts with a wide array of people, including Shift 1 Engineering, Field Service Engineers (FSE) and Manufacturing Equipment Technicians (MET). To be successful in this role, you need to have a passion for instrumentation development with the goal of developing a robust manufacturable process module.

As an Engineer your job responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Defining and developing procedures and equipment configuration for the module.
  • Defining projects to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Driving improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment, and operating personnel.
  • Developing solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools.
  • Establishing the process control systems for the process module and sustains the module through volume ramp.
  • Develops strategy to resolve difficult problems and establishes systems to deal with these problems in the future.
  • Additionally, you will respond to production requests for material disposition and alarm response.

Additionally, candidate must be willing to:

  • Hands on experimental work (e.g. lab work, hobbies, auto work, or prior experience).
  • Read schematics and complex drawings and diagrams. Lift up to 30 lbs, and push carts for at least a distance of 500m.
  • Walk long distances and work in confined spaces and climb stairs and perform work on ladders.
  • Wear closed shoes all shift
  • Work on a night shift compressed work week schedule (Shift 4: (nights frontend) PM-AM Sun-Tues and alternating Saturday nights/ Shift 6: (nights backend) PM-AM Wed-Sat and alternating Saturday night)
  • Shifts are twelve hours long and rotate from three to four days a week. Willingness to perform detailed visual inspection tasks.

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly.


Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (ex. chemistry, physics, material science, mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering, etc.) or expect the required degree by December 2021.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of process engineer experience, in process control systems.

  • 6+ months of experience in computer software Microsoft Office and database entry.

  • Master's degree in a STEM field (ex. chemistry, physics, material science, mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering, etc.) or expect the required degree by December 2021
