Job Description

Intel's Corporate Quality Network is seeking engineers for work in Quality and Reliability of semiconductor devices across a variety of areas of expertise.

Technology Development Quality and Reliability (QnR) Engineering is a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring decision-making at the strategic and tactical levels. 


The D1 Quality and Reliability (QnR) Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:

  •  Close working relationships with Intel's Logic Technology Development groups (silicon, package, and test technology development), Manufacturing Quality and Reliability, and the Product Divisions.

  •  QnR assessments of Intel silicon or silicon/package interactions on Intel's leading edge technologies. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required because the candidate will need to summarize key messages for senior management reviews.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  • Problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills, and expertise to effectively work in a dynamic environment and with cross-functional teams


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • The candidate must possess at least one of the 2 following degrees plus the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below:

    • Master's Degree, in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Material Science Engineering, and Physics or equivalents.

    • Ph.D. in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Material Science Engineering, and Physics or equivalents.

    • Minimum 6 months of experience in a semiconductor environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Expertise in any of the following areas:

    • Transistors, interconnects, dielectrics, semiconductor packaging, early life failure, and device, system, and product reliability.

    • Semiconductor testing and the implications of new packaging technologies to test methods and hardware.

    • Physics of failure and reliability assessment methods (experimental and model-based).

    • Knowledge (coursework or projects/internships) that used statistics and data analysis, and related software tools such as Excel, JMP, R, C#, and Python.

    • Experimental design, execution, and interpretation
