Our Cybersecurity team is presently seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to support our Enterprise Network Systems. This role can be filled at either our Tewksbury, MA, or Tucson, AZ, locations. This is a partially on-site role which works approximately 70% remote and 30% on-site. Capped relocation support is available, see below for further details regarding what we offer.

Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity within the Global Security Services (GSS) Cybersecurity organization supporting the Enterprise Wide Area Network (eWAN) as a Cybersecurity Architect. The eWAN provides centralized delivery of advanced Digital Technology (DT) and security services to multiple classified program efforts across the enterprise. The eWAN transforms the delivery model of classified information processing and quickly delivers secure collaboration and processing resources to internal stakeholders. Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • The eWAN Cybersecurity Architect partners with a cross-business and cross-function team of eWAN support personnel to design, deploy, and support secure technical solutions across the enterprise network. The Cybersecurity Architect supports the development of multitenant collaboration, data storage, and processing solutions by ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and integrating applicable security controls into the design and operation of the product. Examples include virtual desktop infrastructure, collaboration tools and platforms, high performance computing, etc.
  • You will participate in the cross-functional eWAN architecture team, which shapes the capability roadmap for the network and provides strategic direction to program leaders and stakeholders to align technical development and deployment activities with business objectives. This individual provides security-focused guidance and direction to the eWAN architectural team and leaders which aligns program activities with the cybersecurity business case for enterprise connectivity and the organizational risk appetite. The Cybersecurity Architect also supports the eWAN Information System Security Manager (ISSM) with the assessment of new capabilities and change requests.
  • You will support the eWAN cybersecurity technical operations team by designing scalable and supportable security solutions which are compliant with required security controls and compatible with eWAN security operational practices. These solutions provide enhanced environment visibility and actionable vulnerability data to the eWAN cybersecurity team and program stakeholders. This individual serves as a subject matter expert for technical security solutions and supports the eWAN Cybersecurity Technical Lead in validating all security tools are functioning as designed and adjusting implementations to support new
  • You will partner with RTX business unit Cybersecurity Architects to ensure compatibility and alignment of technical solutions across all supported information systems, and to identify opportunities for collaboration and reciprocal use of developed capabilities.
  • The eWAN Cybersecurity Architect has a strong understanding of host-based system security controls, network security technologies, and vulnerability detection and management applications. The candidate should also be familiar with endpoint control and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions. The Cybersecurity Architect must combine advanced technical skills with written and oral communication skills in order to integrate sophisticated security technologies within a holistic cybersecurity operating model focused on regulatory compliance and targeted risk reduction.
  • This position reports to the eWAN Cybersecurity Operations Manager.

Important note: Within six months of hire date, you must obtain and maintain a Security professional certification commensurate with DoD 8570.1 IAM Level II certification CISSP/CISM/GSLC or other applicable certification, if you do not already have this certification.

Qualifications you must have:
  • An active and in-scope Secret US security clearance
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems Management, Management Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Business, Math or other relevant field.
    • An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: Masters is equal to 2 years of experience or a Ph.D. is equal to 4 years of experience.
  • Eight (8) years of cyber/systems security/engineering experience

Qualifications we value:
  • Experience designing and assessing security controls/protection requirements of information system components and networks based on organizational security objectives and compliance requirements
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing and cloud security principles
  • Experience developing enterprise transformation projects within DoD environments
  • Experience with various information system security tools that address vulnerability analysis and mitigation. These may include Tenable, ACAS, HBSS, etc.
  • Experience with system security tools focused on auditing, activity monitoring, endpoint protection, etc. These may include Splunk, Forcepoint, Ivanti, etc.
  • Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure, containerization, or virtual desktop infrastructure
  • Experience interpreting, implementing, and assessing DISA STIGs
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity hardening practices for major operating system platforms (Windows, Linux, etc.)
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, intrusion detection, network monitoring, segmentation, and encryption solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory
  • Familiarity with Scaled Agile
  • Experience with large multi-facility networks including diverse and complex components
  • Familiarity with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Risk Management Framework (RMF), Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agencys (DCSA) Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills to include: attention to detail, time management and ability to multitask
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
