Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Network Platform Group (NPG) as a Customer Software Engineer!

In this position you will be joining an established, capable, and inclusive team with the vision to provide world-class customer service and scale Intel's reach in the Data Center and in the broader industry through customer advocacy, enabling and support. You will have an exciting opportunity to apply and grow your technical knowledge with the primary responsibility for direct Tier 1 customer support, enabling the next-generation telecommunications platform designs and cloud computing designs with Intel software products.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Maintain strong relationship with customers to ensure successful Intel QuickAssist-based products by providing excellent technical support.
  • Resolve customer's technical questions and issues, participate in customer visits, and present to internal and external customers.
  • Perform customer issue management and software/hardware debug, with support from established experts. Create and improve documentation and processes, including performance tuning. Advocate for improved customer experiences.
  • Support field teams and business development teams in both pre-design wins and post-design wins.
  • Lead the effort to integrate Intel QAT software into customer applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams QAT architecture, design, software/firmware and product marketing to introduce new Intel QAT features based on customer requirements.
  • Form and deliver customer communications and handle customer escalations.
  • Enable customers of Intel QAT by providing technical collaterals and trainings, and architecture reviews.

  • Strong conceptual background and application of programming concepts.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills and debugging skills to assist in root cause analysis of customer issues in software. Ability to seek out creative solutions to customer issues with a team of experts.
  • Strong working knowledge of basic-to-intermediate tasks in Linux
  • Proven experience to work independently and collaboratively, including on site at customer locations, if required
  • Software development environments across multiple operating systems.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or similar degree with 3+ years of experience or Master 's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or similar degree with 2+ years of experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Previous experience in delighting customers within the software field.
  • Build system and build tools, including gcc, make, and more.
  • Programming languages in C/C++ or other lower-level languages.
  • Scripting languages, such as Python

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in internet/network security technologies and implementations (SSL/TLS/OpenSSL/IPsec/firewall/VPN/Load Balancers/SD-WAN/NGINX).
  • Experience in data storage/cloud technologies and implementations (Hadoop/DEFLATE/LZ/LZ4/Deduplication/Virtualization/Kubernetes/Dockers/Containers/KVM).
  • Experience in cryptographic and data compression concepts, including Security mindset.
  • Experience with Linux user-space and kernel-space application development
  • Experience with Programming and documentation of Software APIs
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, FreeBSD, VMware, and Windows
  • Knowledge and capability with debugging environments such as GDB, perf, and Vtune.
