Multiple positions.

Location - May telecommute from any location on the west coast of the U.S. or may telecommute from any location on the east coast of the U.S. 

Job duties – Work at the intersection of our client services and engineering teams and drive customer success by helping identify and resolve critical business issues. Interact directly with our customers to provide software development and operations expertise, leveraging knowledge of best practices in the user of Apache Kafka, the broader Confluent Platform, as well as complementary systems. Hands-on in fixing issues seen by customers and contributing fixes back to the open source community. Build strong relationships with customers, ensuring exemplary support and timely resolution to requests. 

Education and Experience required – Bachelor’s in Computer Science, any Engineering degree, or related technical field, and 5 years of experience as a support engineer, dev ops engineer, or software engineer.

Background – Experience above and below may be gained concurrently: 2 years’ experience in diagnosing, reproducing, and resolving customer issues. Two of the following: 2 years’ experience troubleshooting applications running on Linux (resource contention, network bottlenecks, etc.); 2 years’ experience with Java applications (jstack, jmap, etc.); or 2 years’ experience with at least one mainstream distributed system (e.g. Kafka, Hadoop, Cassandra, etc.)
