Job Description

DPEA, the Data Products Architecture and Engineering organization, is seeking a server system debug engineer to join the Xeon AP/SP Platform Integration and Validation team to lead debug of custom server compute products that Intel designs for large enterprise and government customers.

As Server System Debug Engineer, your responsibilities will be but not limited to:

  • Work with our Intel's internal product teams (Silicon, Microcode, Firmware, Software, Board, System, Manufacturing, Validation) and our customer teams during critical escalations, to root-cause system-level failures and/or anomalies directly impacting our customers or jeopardizing our committed timelines.
  • Perform low-level and complex debug and automated test development across multiple IP and system domains, within a product and will use their experience with/understanding of SOC design and architecture, Firmware, Bios and software to completely understand any issue and drive a resolution.
  • Drive innovative debug capability improvements through new Design for Debug (DFD), debug tools, methodologies, and automation to continuously improve the debug discipline.
  • Continuously learn new datacenter server technologies and debug techniques.

Behavioral traits:

  • Use clear communication skills and collaboration to effectively drive debug and validation activities in various forums.
  • Self-motivated and willing to make decisions with little or no direction, and manage ambiguity effectively.
  • Comfortable being interactive in a lab environment

As part of the custom server systems projects, the work will leverage and draft from Intel's mainstream datacenter platform debug and validation efforts, adapting and reusing automated tests and debug techniques, and tying together the development teams of the custom compute components with Intel's general server platform domain experts.
