Apple's Platform Architecture group architects high-performance, low power CPUs that power iPhone and iPad. We are looking for an experienced hardware or software engineer to help with the analysis and tuning of CPU workloads

Key Qualifications

  • You should have more than 3 years of experience working with simulators and CPU performance models
  • You should also have a deep understanding of CPU architecture and microarchitecture, as well as the ARM architecture
  • Be proficient in C and C++, as well as proficient in scripting languages such as Perl, Python and Ruby
  • The ability to problem solve and prove your own ideas
  • Knowledge and experience with common simulation strategies
  • Knowledge of OS internals and compiler technology is a plus

Description

YOU WILL OWN OR PARTICIPATE IN THE FOLLOWING:
-Develop and maintain performance and trace analysis tools
-Develop and implement visualization extensions to assist with data analysis
-Drive integration of tools with the CPU performance model and other simulators
-Run and analyze workloads on simulators and prototype devices as well as work on developing and automating performance analysis infrastructure

Education & Experience

MS or PhD EE/ECE/EECS or related field
