Apple's Global Security Operations Center is looking for an exceptional, reliable, and detail oriented leader with an ability to focus on customer service and safety. The GSOC CSM is an integral Global Security position with oversight of a GSOC shift of 8-15 line operators that provide 24/7/365 call center support and protection for Apple's employees, properties, products, and ideas in the Santa Clara Valley and around the world. This is a highly technical, hands-on leadership role set in a dynamic and fast-paced environment , within the state-of-the-art Global Security Operations Center (GSOC)

Key Qualifications

  • Previous management/ supervisory/ lead experience in a Security Operations Center is preferred
  • Desire and ability to mentor, train, coach, and motivate others
  • Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate strong verbal and written skills

  • Possess strong decision making ability in both routine and urgent situations

The successful candidate must be comfortable making decisions and leading a work environment that is customer services oriented, dynamic, at times fast paced, and constantly evolving. GSOC CSM duties include but are not limited to:
Provide guidance and direction to operators processing emergency and non-emergency calls-for-service through radio dispatch, phone, and email
Supervise day-to-day GSOC activities and liaison as necessary with Operations and/or escalate to Global Security Leadership when needed
Provide verbal, written, and electronic pass down information from shift to shift
Project coordination, attend meetings, and communicate updates to the team
Attend/conduct daily briefings with staff that include hot topics, trainings, and event debriefs
Provide regular verbal and written feedback
Complete annual written performance evaluations
Provide response to management requests for safety and/or security events, issues, staffing deficiencies and other concerns
Monitor and maintain time keeping systems, attendance records, and coordinate administrative scheduling. Liaison with the People Team as necessary for any concerns
Ensure GSOC maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
Occasionally work special events or details that may take place outside of the GSOC
Monitor trainee/trainer relationships and progress during on-the-job training
Communicate effectively with key partners within Global Security, such as Standard Deployment Watch Commanders, the Contracted Security Team, and Building and Event Corporate Security Managers
Author and update policy and procedures as necessary
Utilize a myriad of security and productivity related software applications such as: access control systems, CCTV, electronic surveillance systems, panic and entry alarms, emergency notification system, and computer aided dispatch (CAD)
Maintain full awareness of the functionality of GSOC enterprise systems to ensure working order. Escalate to appropriate support team as necessary for system evaluation
Monitor and maintain status of field personnel and property, analyze situations accordingly and take effective action to help ensure safety and security
Maintain accurate records of all calls and prepare reports after priority or critical incidents for management review and awareness
Approve operator completed maintenance and field service requests to ensure proper operation of security devices
Coordinate GSOC work flow to ensure radios transmissions, phone calls, email, and alarm processing is occurring in an effective and expedient manner
Maintain familiarity with Apple world wide regions, campuses, and world facilities
Coordinate with Public Safety (law, fire, medical) for emergency services as needed
Perform routine clerical work, specialized research, and presentations as needed
Adhere to the highest ethical standard in conduct with all others
Demonstrate a willingness to be proactive to help ensure the Apple GSOC remains a world class operation
Take part in the interview or testing process for new hires
Review and approve text and email notifications, summaries, audit requests, and access control modifications
Contribute ideas toward improving business practices related to the GSOC and/or other remote Security Operations Centers (SOCs)
Must be willing to work any shift assigned as business needs dictate

Education & Experience

Bachelors degree preferred
