Role Number:200283000

Apple's Platform Restore and Software Update validation team is responsible to ensure high quality OS releases are delivered to customers. You will be responsible for execution and triage of automated tests, creatively think of ideas to improve customer experience on software updates and perform manual validation of new features, help reproduce hard to find customer bugs. This role requires maintaining a large scale lab with racks of devices under test.

Key Qualifications

  • Some QA/QE experience is desired.
  • Execute automated tests, understand the automation code and prioritize the failures on regular basis.
  • Be able to look at Splunk dashboards and help improve testing reliability.
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining automation racks is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with passion for quality and customer experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting language.
  • Proven experience in filesystems, networking or other system level software is.

Description

The successful candidate should have a strong aptitude for learning new technologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive sophisticated and challenging projects to conclusion in a fast paced environment.

Strong collaboration with engineering, multi-functional teams and an ability to thrive under pressure are key skills required to succeed in this role.

Your duties will vary, but may include:
- Execution of automated and manual feature testing.
- Execution of pre-checking, functional and regression testing, find opportunities to use automation.
- Analysis and deep triage of test results.
- Provide status reports to management.
- Contributions to the development of test plans.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's or higher degree in CS/CE or equivalent experience
