Seeking a full-time engineer to join our Controls Engineering group. Candidate will be responsible for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) system design, deployment, and maintenance, in addition to functional test planning and execution for all of our controls software.
Key Qualifications
We are seeking a highly motivated Controls Verification and Validation (V&V) engineer to support the development of controls software for complex dynamical systems.
Interface with vendors to lead the architecture specification, detailed design, and deployment of new HIL systems and modifications to existing HIL systems
Drive the specification and sourcing of electrical components for HIL systems (I/O, sensors, safety monitoring, power supply/sink and routing, thermal management)
Design and modify electrical harnesses for new/existing HIL systems (connector selection, wire selection, signal routing, signal integrity) and coordinate harness build with technicians and vendors
Collaborate with systems engineering teams to design test campaigns to cover requirements and ensure safety-critical functional operation
Lead the authoring and execution of test campaigns for software development milestones
Work with controls engineers to integrate controllers into HIL simulation environments
Work with modeling engineers to integrate plant models into HIL simulation environments
Collaborate in highly cross-functional environment and work closely with controls design engineers, software engineers, systems integration engineers, and sensor and actuator design engineers to support software development
Education & Experience
BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
