Raytheon Technologies Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) Mission Area has a position for a Contracts Negotiator / Sr. Contracts Negotiator for the Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle (EKV) Program working within our Integrated Missile Defense Solutions (IMDS) Program Area Directorate. The EKV Program operates in partnership with industry partners and the Missile Defense Agency to advance this important homeland defense capability. The candidate will also support close out efforts on the Redesigned Kill Vehicle (RKV).

This position may be for a Contracts Negotiator or a Sr. Contracts negotiator depending on the applicants' skills and qualifications.

Position Description:
The candidate will support the Contracts Manager on the IMDS EKV Program with contractual support and administration of the CPIF/CPAF/FPIF/T&M development efforts under the Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle (EKV) program. The successful candidates duties includes Requests for Proposals (RFP) analysis, proposal development, review and coordination of contract modifications, contract negotiations, and general contract management duties. The candidate will work closely with Contracts Leaders, Program Managers, and Business/Estimating, Supply Chain, and Corporate Treasury functions to construct, submit and negotiate pricing proposals. Provide support to program team regarding contractual and business issues; ensuring that negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies

This position may be for a Contracts Negotiator or a Sr. Contracts Negotiator depending on the applicants skills and qualifications.

This position may be located in Tucson, AZ or remotely. Travel may be required to Tucson, AZ and Huntsville, AL if working remotely or at a different location.

Required Skills:
  • 4 years of experience to be considered as Contracts Negotiator / 6 years of experience for Sr Contracts Negotiator in domestic contract administration, including proposal preparation and contract negotiation.
  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, Law, or related field (Higher education may be considered in lieu of 2 years of experience)
  • A proven track record of success in domestic contracting including terms and conditions, FAR/DFARS, employing policies and procedures, and Risk Mitigation
  • Managing and reporting on subcontract performance to Contracts and Program leadership.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and shared data bases
  • Experience of handling several assignments concurrently
  • 6 years of experience in a position where effective relationships with customers and internal partners were developed based on understanding and trust
  • Past experience in working within a team and fostering teamwork and trust
  • DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance

Desired Skills:
  • MBA or Juris Doctor
  • Demonstrates cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Ability to adapt to changing business environment
  • Ability to be a self-starter and identify own learning opportunities and engagement
  • Experience administering production, development or service contracts valued at $25M or higher
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
  • The demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize actions.
  • Experience working is a fast-paced environment, where prioritization was required to be effective.
  • Proven record of responsiveness with strong time management and organization skills
  • Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts
  • Hands-on proposal preparation or negotiation experience
  • Demonstrated strong work initiative and ability to adapt to new challenges


Security Clearance:
This position requires the eligibility to obtain security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations, and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
