As a Contracts Negotiator youll provide sound contracts leadership to Fleet Readiness Services Programs/Contracts to the Naval Surface and Undersea Systems/Naval Power Mission Area. In addition, youll adhere to company policies and procedures and ensure their application to contract structures. Also in this role, youll use your business acumen, program knowledge and skill in recognizing contractual issues early in program to help drive program performance, provide guidance in solution implementation and influence outcomes to achieve desired results.

Overall responsibilities will include working with multiple services and logistics support contracts with the U.S. government and international customers.

Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Management of all aspects of the contracting process, including proposal preparation, fact finding, negotiation, contract administration, and contract closure. Focus on Product line growth and capture activities.
  • Engagement with program teams and customers to ensure that the program executes to contract requirements (including cost, funding, schedule, and deliverables),
  • Working with a variety of business agreements, including strategic and proprietary information agreements, while interacting closely with management, organization, planning and controls
  • Negotiating sound business deals with customers and provide governance to the program team in carrying out the terms of the contract
  • Applying tenets of Raytheon Missile & Defense principles of Customer Focused Marketing to establish and maintain effective customer relationships based on professionalism, responsiveness and ethical conduct.

Approximately 10% domestic and international travel required.


A remote work arrangement with periodic visits to the Portsmouth, RI facility will be considered for this role. Onsite attendance at certain critical meetings may be required, and employee is responsible for any commuting expenses between their home office and the Portsmouth, RI facility.

This position can be a salary grade G08 or G09 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience, education and responsibility requirements for the position.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Required Skills:
  • 4+ years of experience in the field of Contract Management, Negotiations, Finance, Supply Chain, Program Management or related fields
    • At a Grade G08, 2+ years of experience in the aforementioned areas along with a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job.
    • At a Grade G09, 4+ years of experience in the aforementioned areas along with a relevant Master's Degree may be considered for this job.
  • Experience working with complex proposals/contracts.
  • US Citizenship is required


Desired Skills:
  • Experience working with FAR, DFAR, ITAR, etc. and/or equivalent government regulations
  • Ability to problem solve, develop solutions, and support the business leaders in achieving their financial and performance goals and objectives
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, or Project)

Required Education:
  • Bachelors degree. 8+ years of professional experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
