The Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) Raytheon Six Sigma (R6s) organization within Quality and Mission Assurance (Q&MA) seeks an experienced, results-driven professional to lead high-impact project execution as well as project portfolio management. This role is responsible for Operating System deployment and oversight, collaborating with key Engineering, Q&MA and Advanced Technology and other Mission Area stakeholders to deliver measurable performance improvement. Responsibilities include business metric and strategic need analysis, opportunity identification, realization and risk mitigation, people development, resource prioritization, project selection and execution to achieve sustainable results and transformational business impact.
The successful candidate will work with, mentor and as needed directly lead functional and program subject matter experts on cross-functional teams to increase value delivery, velocity, efficiency, thereby reducing business and product costs. This requires proactively collaborating with leadership and sponsoring stakeholders to apply R6s tools and methods, as well as business, process and data acumen to translate expressed needs into achievable objectives and actionable scope.
This role has visibility with key decision makers and must have the ability to deliver tactical progress in balance with strategic objectives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Partner with key stakeholders to identify, prioritize and manage progress toward strategic improvement needs
Translate business and program opportunities and risk into measurable business impact
Lead Operating System and project portfolio execution
Prioritize available improvement resources in close collaboration with business, mission areas, product and functional process stakeholders
Lead special projects critical to performance and strategic objectives
Implement Lean Process methods
Support employee development and talent pipeline
Encourage innovative and entrepreneurial mindset centered on data driven decisions and promote rapid action toward implementing solutions
Develop and propagate best practices; leverage benchmarking and enterprise engagement
Identify systemic issues; drive to root cause and sustainable corrective and preventative actions
Present project status utilizing R6s, business and program management tools and procedures including IPDS, EVMS, IMP/IMS, Risk Management, Financial Forecasts and EACs, as required
Travel Required: 25-40% (post COVID-19)
Requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
Required Skills:
10 Years experience in a highly matrixed organization with experience utilizing Six Sigma, lean process methodology, to streamline functional, business and program processes, execution and procedures
Sigma Expert or Expert in Training, Black belt certification or equivalent training and experience
Six Years Supervisory Experience and/or Leading Teams
Experience with program and project execution methodology, decision and governance structure with proven ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively using solid influencing skills
BS - STEM Desired Skills:
Sound business results orientation; ability to make data driven decisions and take action with limited information
Knowledge of PMX program health assessments: ERA, PIA, Integrated Program Leadership, RCET
PM Level 4/5 Certification or on path to complete within six months
EVMS Certification
Cognizant of international requirements: ITAR/EAR, EXIM
Knowledge of financial processes and new business investments
Experience leading projects and portfolio investment decisions applying agile methodology
Self-service process improvement acceleration leveraging Lean principles and Digital Transformation capability including Intelligent Business Process Automation / Robotic Process Automation / AI/ML / DevOps / Digital Thread
8 years related experience in Business Management, Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations Required Education (Major):
BS degree in Science, Engineering, Math or other related technical degree
Preferred Master of Engineering in Systems, Software, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
