As the much-discussed millennial settles into the workforce, a new generation of workers is gearing up to join them.

Called Generation Z, this population of people reaching their twenties will be bringing an entirely different set of experiences with them when they join the workforce.

A few of the characteristics defining this generation, as determined by a number of studies, include an entrepreneurial spirit, tech savviness, and a serious mindset.

Born in the mid-’90s and coming of age to the backdrop of 9/11 and the Great Recession, this population is comfortable with technology in a way that previous generations are not, but more serious and practical, according to researchers, than the generation preceding them.

Additionally, this generation, thanks to the Great Recession, is wary of corporations and will probably be more creative and self-reliant.

All things for employers to consider as Generation Z begins to make its mark on the working world.
