Jobseekers are among those groups most likely to deactivate their Facebook accounts, according to a recent study.

Analyzing factors that might influence a person to leave the social media platform, researchers from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, concluded that young people, single people and people in search of employment were the users most likely delete their Facebook accounts.

The reason jobseekers quit the platform, according to the study, is a simple one: people looking for work want to put their best foot forward and Facebook may not convey the best picture of a job candidate.

To reach their conclusions, the research team conducted phone surveys with roughly 1,000 respondents and presented their findings at the 2018 CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems.
