We have an opening for a Configuration Management Manager to support the Weapons and Complex Integration (WCI) facilities. You will provide technical expertise, management, and leadership of the Configuration Management Program in accordance with the requirements specified in DOE O 420.1C, Facility Safety, for WCI nuclear and non-nuclear facilities at LLNL main site in Livermore, California and Site 300 in Tracy, California. This position is in the Nuclear Materials Technology Program. Essential Duties - Provide comprehensive technical leadership, direction, and expert guidance to a multi-disciplinary and diverse team of engineers, associates, and technicians supporting configuration management in WCI facilities.- Develop innovative approaches and conduct strategic planning for configuration management processes impacting WCI nuclear and non-nuclear facilities and operations.- Supervise and provide administrative direction for the Superblock Document Management Center and WCI facilities document management personnel; monitor workflow and performance; participate in annual appraisal process, career development, mentoring and recruiting.- Develop and administer an operational budget, including allocation, prioritization and balancing of resources.- Oversee the review of work control documents and change requests for implementation of configuration management in nuclear facilities, including application of lifecycle management software.- Provide technical expertise to integrate multiple aspects of support programs, including Conduct of Operations, Authorization Basis, Quality Assurance, Work Control, and Training.- Serve on internal/external technical or operational committees and provide strategic technical advice to senior management, external stakeholders and sponsors.- Lead groups of technical and administrative personnel in conducting audits, assessments, incident analyses, event investigations, facility walk-down inspections, and other data collecting activities in support of facility operations and continuous improvement.- Perform other duties as assigned.In addition at the TSL.5 Level
- Provide solutions to highly unusual, complex, and/or sensitive issues/problems where the solution path is not known ahead of time.
- Responsible for high-level goal setting, strategic planning efforts, succession planning, and working with management on long range goals.
-Influence strategic technical decisions made by senior management and external customers.Qualifications - Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in engineering, physical science, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and related experience.- Expert knowledge applying creative solutions to a diverse range of highly complex issues related to nuclear facility configuration management, resolving conflicting work requirements, and prioritizing tasks involving long-range targets.- Expert knowledge of operations processes related to configuration management in nuclear facilities, including work control, change control, document control, design requirements and system assessments.- Expert knowledge developing and implementing safety programs and process improvements for nuclear facilities.- Substantial experience handling multiple priorities and tasks with excellent attention to detail in a complex technical domain.- Broad knowledge and significant experience with the interpretation and implementation of Laboratory policies and procedures and/or similar high-hazard facilities.
- Significant leadership and personnel management experience, including supervision, hiring, writing performance appraisals, ranking, and salary management.
- Expert facilitation and collaboration skills necessary to interact effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment, deliver effective presentations, and advise and influence senior management and/or external sponsors.
In Addition at the TSL.5 Level- Extensive experience managing regulatory interpretation and implementation of Department of Energy and Federal regulations.- Extensive experience engaging in and leading multi-disciplinary teams conducting management assessments, incident analyses, readiness assessments, effectiveness reviews and administering configuration control of documents using lifecycle management software.-Demonstrated highly developed and advanced verbal and interpersonal communication skills including experience developing and explaining complex technical programs, documents, procedures, specifications, and reports.Desired Qualifications- Knowledge of LLNL and WCI Directorate policies and procedures.

Security Clearance: This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at time of hire.For additional information, please see DOE Order 472.2.
