The iPhone Product Operations Data Team is looking for an extraordinary Computer Vision specialist to join our team. You will help design and implement 3D vision, image processing and CV from prototype to scale for the massive iPhone supply chain and help build the future of our manufacturing systems. This CV Specialist will be collaborating and working with multi-functional teams as the expert with Camera/inspection systems.

Key RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop Computer Vision and Image Processing algorithms and methods for automated inspection machines
- Use technical knowledge to influence and design new test fixtures, then expand the system to improve and innovate for other product lines
- Carry out end-to-end prototyping and proof-of-concept tasks for new automation ideas
- Potential travel overseas 5-10%

Key Qualifications

  • Computer Vision expertise in areas related to camera image processing, such as:
  • Intrinsic and extrinsic camera calibration
  • Multiple-view geometry
  • Bundle adjustment
  • Sensor fusion
  • Image enhancement
  • Knowledge of depth sensing technologies such as Lidar and structured light
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning methods and principles relevant for image analysis, object detection and recognition
  • Strong software development skills in C/C++
  • Experience with macOS/iOS and Linux operating systems
  • General problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.

Description

As a key member of our team, you will bring Computer Vision expertise to a collaborative, cross-functional environment including mechanical, electrical and software development engineers as well as operations teams to develop and support optical inspection projects in automated industrial environments.
Create, simplify and innovate complex inspection machines, mechanical fixtures and test stations. You will help design, implement, test and deploy prototypes through to solutions within manufacturing across a variety of Apple's product lines.

Education & Experience
- PhD is strongly preferred
- Masters in Applied Physics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related fields with 3+ years of applied Computer Vision experience
