We are seeking Systems Engineering professionals in the Integrated Fire Control Systems (IFCS) department at our Tewksbury, MA location. The department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support RMDs Land Warfare and Air Defense (LWAD) and Naval Power (NP) mission areas from our Tewksbury MA, Andover MA, and St. Petersburg FL locations. The IFCS department supports RMD by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the worlds toughest challenges. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.


Job Summary:

The System Design & Architecture (SD&A) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within RMD, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and System Security Engineering (SSE). We are responsible for system performance for complex, large scale defense applications. Within this directorate, the IFCS employees provide modeling and simulation, system effectiveness, operational analysis, radar systems design and integration, algorithm development, tracking, and discrimination. SDA's Core capabilities encompass a wide range of the key systems engineering competencies required for successful technical development and program execution. Our capabilities cover the entire lifecycle, including business capture, proposal development, system requirements and technical design, as well as system integration and test support. Areas of expertise are radar, sensor, battle management solutions, command and control, and cyber security.

The Communications Systems Engineer works in a dynamic organization developing customized communications architecture solutions for Patriot Weapons System partners around the globe. It is the mission of the team to understand the needs of the customer and to put together and implement a comprehensive plan to meet that need. That might mean modifying existing hardware or developing new hardware for a specific mission. The engineers work on concept development, preliminary and detailed designs all while implementing those designs in the Communication lab to prove they function as designed. The team works extensively with the other Engineering Organizations to deliver a superior product to the Warfighter. This position is based in Massachusetts.


Responsibilities to Anticipate:
  • Work in a dynamic organization developing customized communications architecture solutions for Patriot Weapons System partners around the globe.
  • Understand the needs of the customer and to put together and implement a comprehensive plan to meet that need
  • Modify existing hardware or developing new hardware for a specific mission
  • Work on concept development, preliminary and detailed designs all while implementing those designs in the Communication lab to prove they function as designed
  • Work extensively with the other Engineering Organizations to deliver a superior product to the Warfighter

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience. A Ph.D. can account for 5 years of experience as required for this position.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with IP networking equipment such as routers and switches
  • Experience working with communications equipment for military customers
  • Experience with Systems Engineering processes
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Value:
  • Experience with CISCO routers/IOS
  • Experience with UHF and VHF military radios
  • Proven ability to interface with customers and lead technical solutions to complex User requirements
  • Experience with Link-16 networking and interfaces
  • Experience with military networked voice systems
  • Experience with scripting in Python
  • Experience with security features and/or vulnerability analysis of various operating systems as defined by Intelligence agencies, NIST, DISA (STIGs) and USCYBERCOM
