Job Description

GTRI Communications team seeks a Student Assistant (SA) to support the efforts to increase brand awareness for GTRI through the creation and development of information for publication and distribution. In addition to supporting and promoting GTRI and its products or programs. Assist in the development of communications plans and materials designed to promote and raise awareness for the labs, units, programs, and services. Communication materials may include memos, graphics, brochures, fact sheets, articles, logos, and internal/external websites. Consult with researchers, lab, or unit directors to acquire the necessary information. Support GTRI tradeshow, photography, and graphic design efforts.

Duties may include but not limited to the following:
Assist with marketing and communications efforts including photography, graphic design, tradeshows and website updates; help facilitate internal customer requests
Act as a liaison with internal groups including labs, units, programs and services
Participate in the development of new marketing initiatives and work with communications team members to identify strategies including design of print, email, and/or web campaigns and coordination of related production efforts
Plan, coordinate, and support scheduling and logistics for unit events/activities; participate in organization outreach initiatives
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications

Student Assistant

Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Computational Media & Digital Media, Computer Science, Literature, Media, and Communication, or related field
Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university during working semesters
3.0 or higher GPA

Preferred Qualifications

Strong writing and editing skills
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal skills
Strong time management skills
Computer skills may include: Windows, Microsoft Office suite, experience with content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress.

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
