Job Summary:

The System Design & Architecture (SD&A) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within RMD, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).

The team in Fullerton, CA, is seeking a highly skilled Command and Control (C2) Senior Principal Systems Engineer to lead and support all phases of the engineering lifecycle including systems analysis, operational concept development, proposal writing, requirements development and maintenance, conducting trade studies, design, implementation, integration and verification.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
The C2 Senior Principal Systems Engineer will use analytical and problem solving skills; strong written and oral communication skills; solid judgment, reasoning, and decision making abilities in a dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities and deadline constraints requiring rapid turnarounds. Responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and supporting all phases of the engineering lifecycle.
  • Developing and presenting technical documentation including customer briefings, operational concepts, proposals, requirements, trade studies white papers, Interface Design Descriptions (IDDs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Generating and maintaining System and Product (or Component) level requirements baselines.
  • Performing requirements analysis, decomposition and allocation in Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS).
  • Supporting agile development processes.
  • Supporting Procurement and Logistics tasks for responsible programs.
  • Coordinating program start-up activities including development of Integrated Master Schedule; inchstone tasks; Performance Measurement Baseline; Earned Value Management; staffing; and managing Risks and Opportunities for assigned scope.
  • Frequent interfacing with stakeholders from customers, technical management, and Engineering disciplines to resolve issues and ensure an optimal balance between cost, schedule and technical integrity.
  • Travelling up to 10% of the year Outside of Continental United States (OCONUS), and up to 10% of the year within Continental United States (CONUS), as required and based on customer needs.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM). An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience as follows: An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience within engineering or a related field
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value:
