Cocoa provides media and graphics software foundation across all of Apple's platforms such as macOS, iOS, watchOS and tvOS, as well as professional and consumer applications from Final Cut to iLife and iWork. Cocoa takes the graphics experience to the next level with core technologies such as CoreGraphics, ColorSync, PDFKit, ImageIO, ImageCapture and more

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in software development
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the C/C++/ObjC programming languages
  • Knowledge of the PDF file format
  • Working knowledge of graphics APIs
  • Familiarity with CoreGraphics, AppKit and UIKit APIs
  • Experience with operating systems level engineering
  • Knowledge of font formats a major plus

  • You have excellent judgment and integrity with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of macOS and iOS is helpful

We are looking for a software engineer with strong technical and programming skills. Join our team and contribute to CoreGraphics, PDF, ImageIO, Text subsystem and ColorSync technologies on all platforms. The main focus for this position are the CoreGraphics drawing APIs and PDF Technologies. You will join a hands-on development team that fosters creativity and generates novel solutions to deliver engineering excellence. We partner with a variety of cross and multi-functional team members from a diverse array of groups across the company

Education & Experience

A BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience is required

Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of ARM or x86 assembly code and optimization
  • Self motivated, independent and proactive
  • Proven track record shipping best-in-class software products
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills
  • Attentive to detail
  • Strong low-level debugging abilities
