Come join our creative team of engineers dedicated to designing the next generation switch silicon products. Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join the BXD (Barefoot Switching Division) in our Network and Edge Group (NEX) as a Cloud Solutions Architect. You will be a key member in defining the technical requirements of our Ethernet Switching products. We're a strong, vibrant, cross-site team that helps drive Intel's programmable switching technology and products to position Tofino as the switching platform of choice for Cloud and Data Center network deployments.

In this role, you will need be working closely with customers to understand usage and pain points in order to help define product feature requirements.  You will collaborate closely with the cross-functional engineering teams to ensure that the product requirements are met. 

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Interacting with customers to understand usage and requirements

  • Serve as the authority and key technical advisor for the product and its current and future capabilities

  • Define product feature set and produce technical feature definitions

  • Analyze and design solutions to address customer usage and requirements

  • Partner with Business Development on key engagements to solve customer use cases in pre-sales engagements

  • Working with engineering and development teams to ensure successful implementation of features

  • Provide training to cross-functional teams to foster team technical growth of the organization

  • Tracking post-sales product feedback and quality by liaising with support and development teams

  • Collaborate with experts of various domains within Intel to further enhance Intel product offerings

  • Experience with hardware/software packet processing data planes

  • Knowledge of large scale data center networking

  • Strong communicator with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

The Connectivity Group (CG), to which BXD resides, drives new product technologies in the areas of Programmable switching devices, and Smart NICs, Silicon Photonics for data center fabrics. The BXD team is driven by deep engineering skills and a love of cutting-edge projects. We are building the world's fastest switches that are also fully programmable, ensuring the network can adapt to meet the emerging needs of applications and empower users to write solutions rapidly, and to innovate broadly. We believe that when the network is fully programmable-that is, both the control plane and data plane are under the control of the end user- the networking industry will enjoy the same innovative explosion as we have seen in software.



You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or related field plus 10 years of industry work experience or

  • Masters degree in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or related field plus 7 years of industry work experience or

  • PhD in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or related field plus 5 years of industry work experience

  • 4+ years of experience working with network data planes


Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ Experience in network or network ASIC architecture

  • 3+ years of experience with software design and development in networking

  • Experience with cloud architecture and deployments

  • Experience scripting languages such as Python
